Finally, here I am again God,

Not sure why I’m having such a hard time writing… and even talking to you lately. My quick thank you and request prayers at meals and at night  seem to be lacking.  So much going on but you are always there.  I feel your presence.

This life that you provide is such a precious gift. Thank you so much for mine and all the valuable people and experiences that you have for all of us in this prayer group. I have been wondering why you chose this path for us.  I sometimes feel like I wish I was returning much more. So glad your patience is much greater  than mine. I do know your timing is not my own.

Our journey of faith is filled with opportunities, some challenging but most are so inspiring. Help me to recognize the growth and the grace you are providing. Last week Pastor’s sermon dealt with not being able to borrow faith or buy some at the last minute. But that we are able to invest our time and energy and effort to grow our own. We grow out of our clothes but we grow bigger “in” our faith.  Help us to seek the faith that fits our time, energy and efforts that we will be known by our words and works by you and one another. You call us to use the gifts you have given us and to trust you that we are getting this right. WOW, I see the level of trust you have in me. You give me so much as my journey continues.

Sometimes, this growth can feel a bit scary.  Open our hearts and minds to receive these gifts, knowing they are from you . For all those who have, more will be given and they will have an  abundance: but from those who have nothing, even what they have will be taken away. We do know you, Lord and we chose to walk in your ways. We will take that leap of faith, knowing  you  provide. Give us the confidence in our decisions that we will always stay close to you.

As always, we ask your guidance for the health and welfare of Mt Cross and each of our members and guests. Give us spirit filled individuals as you add to and strengthen our family. Pour down your wisdom on the selection of our new Youth and Family Director. Let our selection team feel your approval as the decision is made. Grace us all with your joy.

No matter how positive we can feel about change, there are parts that are tough. Be with Pastor Erik and his family as they move to their next adventure. Give them peace in knowing you have set a special place for them. Your plans are full of hope and blessings. As members of Mt Cross, we are sad to see them go but are full of excitement for what you offer them now.

     In Jesus's name.  AMEN

Hi Everyone,   So glad you are here! A little background information. I really feel like God has a plan for us. All my life, I have seen doors open and close directing me on a path for my choices. My friend in Tucson introduced me to a Christian Fiction author, Neta Jackson, and God pointed me to her Yada Yada prayer series of books. I want to read my Bible daily and prayer constantly but I don't. These books are about a group of very diverse women who meet at a Women's Bible Conference. They end up in a prayer group and have been my inspiration to this prayer blog.

Dear Father in Heaven,   Blessed be your name. Thank you for having prayer be a part of our day and making sure we know YOU are always including us.  Our stewardship drive has started. You know the health and welfare of our church. You know all of our members personally, past, present and future. Let this be a time of connection... that we will truly met our goal of meeting and talking with each other, even when it is just a moment exchanging the basket that we will feel the touch of another, the smile, the handshake, the word will have meaning.

At Sunday School this week... Oops Faith Journeys, such a defining name, but I am still having lots of trouble using it. Am I old and too set in my ways? I think I'm mostly keeping up with the times and that I can learn and grow and make changes.. God, make me aware of your timing, often different than mine. Help me to know you are always patient with me. You do understand when I don't do something or when it takes longer than I would like. I really could use a helpful "kick in the pants" sometimes. Thank you for all those people that you have put in my life to help with that one! But God, we know that I am mostly alone, even when family and friends are around. Keep me open to know that handling lives does take a community and that church is a part of your plan.

Help me to see the person you see me to be. I want to love the way my dogs do, unconditional. Fill me with joy, sharing and caring. Be humble and know God knows the real you. Help me Lord, that my outside, my thoughts, words and deeds will reflect what You have placed inside of me.  And from one of Jenny's closing scripture prayers: Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I say rejoice. Let your patient spirit be known to all men. The Lord is near. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let our requests be known to God.

And the peace of God, which passes all understanding shall guard our hearts and our minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, let our minds dwell on these things. The things you have learned and received and heard and seen in Christ, practice these things and the God of peace shall be with you.  AMEN.

Don't forget to VOTE and really look at your time and talent sheet when you fill it out. Give God the opportunity to provide you with some refreshment, not just what you think you can do for your church, but what your church can do for you!! Look forward to the great week you will be having!
