Monthly Mission Work

Fair Trade Sales- We offer two different ways to support Fair Trade at Mount Cross. The first Sunday of each month we hold a Fair Trade Food Market - that's coffee, tea, chocolate, olive oil, soup mixes and other items.
A few weeks before Christmas, we host the Gifts of Hope Boutique, which offers a variety of Fair Trade items such as jewelry, baskets, scarves and home décor.

Food Pantry - Mount Cross has a strong relationship with St. Columba's Food Pantry. We collect food on a weekly basis to distribute through their program. In addition to the weekly collections, our youth focus on food collections a few times a year in different ways.  We also participate yearly in the Souper Bowl of Caring, raising funds and food on Super Bowl Sunday.

Lutheran Social Services- Lutheran Social Services Community Care Centers work to break the cycle of poverty one family at a time.  We support the work of Lutheran Social Services in a few ways. 

We have a collection location to receive donated items for their shower and laundry services in Thousand Oaks.

We support the Walk to Fight Poverty every fall. It's a 5 K walk on the California Lutheran University campus. You can join us to walk or sponsor one of the walkers on the Mount Cross team. The funds we raise go directly to LSS projects in Ventura County. Check the newsletter for more information on registration or sponsorship.
