prayer shawl ministry"Knit one, pray one" How comforting to know that someone is thinking of you and praying for you. It might be the loss of a loved one, recuperation from a serious illness or just something that is tearing your life apart - when being wrapped in a warm shawl, woven with prayers will sustain and comfort you like nothing else. The shawls have been referred to as "The Waiting Room of Outreach Ministry". When a shawl is delivered it includes a beautiful prayer and a card with a personal blessing from the one who created it. The shawls take a varying time to make and can be knit or crocheted from 3 skeins of Lion Brand Homespun yarn. The directions are not complicated or difficult for even a beginner to make. home communion Once a month we send a group of Communion Ministers out from the worship service into the community. They take the bread and wine of that morning’s Holy Communion service to homes, hospitals, residential care facilities so that their absent sisters and brothers can also share in the sacred meal.
Our team of trained Communion Ministers visit a variety of locations in the community each month. If you would like to receive this training and become a member of this team, please contact the church office or the pastor. |
provide emergency mealsWhen someone has been in the hospital or there has been a death in a family and it would be a great help not to have to worry about cooking, it is usually through the efforts of ladies of the church that a good meal arrives at the door. Sometimes meals are also prepared for households that have welcomed home a new baby.
