Middle School confirmation (Grades 6th – 8th)
The mission of youth ministries at Mount Cross is to bring together young people and adult mentors in order to create a space where youth can encounter Christ through Community, Scripture and Service.
We do this by gathering weekly, for worship, playing games, learning about the Bible, and getting to know each other in small groups. At Mount Cross we call our Middle School ministries “Confirmation”. To “confirm” something means to say “yes” to it. Our hope is that through their experiences at church and church-related events our youth will be encouraged to say “yes” to the way of Jesus. If you are attending a Middle School event, please fill out a current Emergency Medical Release form. For a digital version of this form, click the link below.

Confirmation
Confirmation is our comprehensive program for our middle school youth from 6:30-8:00 PM each Wednesday. Through our three year program the youth will learn about the Old Testament, New Testament and the basics of the Christian faith as summarized in The Small Catechism by Martin Luther. We have fun each week getting to know each other, eating dinner together, interacting our small groups and deepening the faith of our wonderful youth! For more information on Middle School Youth activities, please contact the Joe Zimmerly (joe@mountcross.com). This year at Mount Cross we will be kick starting our new campaign for children, youth and families called "Use Your Voice". This is a series of events and discussions circled around speaking up when injustice is present. Our first part of the series began in September with Stacy Germundson, a school counselor for middle and high school students who has also created a camp for young women called BOLD.
The focus for this event will be on every child believing they are precious and important with infinite potential. When young people know they are loved unconditionally and are empowered with a purpose, they can do amazing things.
The second part of this series will take place in January, 2021 and we look forward to seeing you then!
