Meredith Smith
Meredith came to work at Mount Cross in January of 2015 and has been a member of Mount Cross since she was four years old. Meredith graduated from San Francisco State University in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology. Meredith also attended Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley for one year (2010) where she had the opportunity to go to India to teach children from the slums. Meredith interned at the historic St. Mark's Lutheran Church in San Francisco through her year of seminary, and then after seminary she continued working with their children and youth. Meredith then worked for a year as the "First Third of Life Coordinator" at Faith Lutheran Church in Chico. Meredith then moved down to Orange County and took 18 units in Early Childhood Education from Irvine Valley College in 2012. Meredith worked for the YMCA of Orange County as a Childcare Director at an Elementary school for two years. The Holy Spirit has guided Meredith all over California working with children and families in different capacities. Meredith is happy to be back home in Camarillo and has settled down with her husband Scott and dog Darla. Meredith and Scott enjoy hiking the nearby mountains and cooking together. Meredith also volunteers on the Board of Directors for Lutheran Social Services of Southern California as the chair of the Development Committee. Volunteering for LSS has opened Meredith's eyes to the marginalized in our community and has driven a passion to support the impoverished.
