Stewardship 2010…
When a gift is given, there are several important events that occur – or should.

There is the giving itself.

Then there is the receiving.

A gift given and received is meant to be opened (imagine how a child would feel if the • gift they gave mom or dad remained unopened under the Christmas tree).

A gift is to be used properly (imagine the horror of a child if dad used a Father’s Day tie to shine his shoes!).

And finally, there should be a word of thanks.

As Christians, we have been given a gift: eternal life in Jesus Christ. Stewardship is another word for how we say thanks – every day and every way we can – for a gift we did not deserve, did not earn, and for which we could never gather enough money to buy.
