Special Service Projects
CROP Hunger Walk - Once a year, we take to the streets of Camarillo to raise funds and awareness of hunger issues-both here in our town and across the world. The CROP Hunger Walk is a 10K. You can join us to walk or sponsor one of the walkers on our team. Part of the money we raise is sent to Church World Services to help end hunger around the globe, while part stays here in Camarillo to support a variety of food based missions in town.
Blood Drives - Mount Cross hosts a blood drive two or three times a year. Donating blood is an easy way to help others - and it is a renewable resource God has given us in abundance! The blood drive takes place in the church parking lot on Sunday mornings between 8:00 AM and Noon.
Habitat for Humanity- Mount Cross is a proud supporter of the Ventura County chapter of Habitat for Humanity. Currently, we are working on the build site in Santa Paula. Check the church calendar or newsletter for current build days, no construction skills are necessary, just a willing heart.
Gordon Henry representing Mount Cross delivers a check to Steve Dwyer, Executive Director, at Habitat for Humanity Ventura County.
The check represents funds raised during Gifts of Hope 2014,an alternative gift giving program at Christmas time. .
Tijuana Mission Trip- Every year, Mount Cross send a team of workers to Tijuana, Mexico to build a simple home for a family. We work with Lutheran Border Concerns Ministry, and it usually takes about three days to construct the house and bless it. Interested in joining us? Contact the church office to see when the next trip is planned.
