Pastoral Care
There are many milestone events in life. Weddings, baptisms and funerals to name three. Your pastors are available to assist you and your family prepare for these events as well as provide care at other times.

Pastoral Counseling
Pastor means shepherd and your pastors are available to help provide guidance on life’s way. When a need to talk arises, please call to arrange a time to meet.

Also, we like to know when people are hospitalized so that we can help to provide support. We appreciate it when you or a family member calls to let us know. Current privacy laws may not allow the hospital to contact us.

Baptisms
Mount Cross schedules Baptism Festivals about five times each year:

  • January (Baptism of our Lord; Sunday morning)
  • March or April (Easter Vigil; Saturday night)
  • May or June (Pentecost or Holy Trinity; Sunday morning)
  • Mid-August
  • November (All Saints Sunday)

An orientation session is usually held the week before the festival to help parents and sponsors (God parents) prepare for the service of baptism. For an information form for those preparing for baptism is available click here.

Weddings
We will schedule weddings in our sanctuary for members of our worshipping community. One of the pastors of Mount Cross will officiate. Arrangements can also be made for one of the pastors to officiate at weddings away from the church.

The pastors will only officiate at weddings when they have completed some hours of premarital counseling and preparation with the couple.

To arrange a wedding, please contact the church office and speak with one of the pastors. For an information form for those preparing for a wedding is available click here.

Funerals or Memorial Services
The pastors will assist families in making arrangements for a funeral or memorial service. To see an information page prepared to guide families who need to make plans click here.

Several times each year we schedule a “New Member Orientation.” During these sessions you will learn what is expected of those who desire to affirm their faith and formally affiliate with our congregation.
