Pastor Erik Goehner

Pastor Erik was born in Bellflower, CA, but spent the majority of his growing up years in Washington State and Montana. He graduated from Augustana college in Camrose Alberta, Canada. After working for a year at an elementary school, Pastor Erik attended Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa where he graduated in 1999.

While serving on internship in Santa Barbara, Pastor Erik met his wife, Desta who was serving at a Lutheran church in Ventura as Youth Minister. They were married in July 1999 which brought Pastor Erik back to California. A year later he received his first call to Mount Cross Lutheran Church.

Pastor Erik and Desta now have three children: Maya, Dryden and Piper. Maya and Dryden have both attended pre-school at Mount Cross and Piper is looking forward to attending in the future. Desta works part-time for Lutheran, Retreats, Camps and Conferences (LRCC) and volunteers with Synod Youth Ministry activities. Their family feels blessed to live and serve among the congregation at Mount Cross.
