New Committee Report

Steve Kohl

 

Plans are underway for the Mount Cross Neighborhood Block Party to be held on Saturday, September 11  4pm – 7pm.  Here’s a summary of the status of this project:

 

Advertising:

  • 1000 Door Hangers. Designed and gone to print.  Due on August 13.  Will be distributed by High School youth group to Mount Cross neighborhood homes and new Navy Housing.  MC members will be given door hangers to distribute to neighbors, and friends.  We will distribute to MC members in future church bulletins.
  • Happenings Magazine: Ad submitted to appear in next issue.
  • Acorn: Announcement to be submitted within the next week.
  • Channel 12: Carolin Hobbs to submit announcement to her contact.
  • Camarillo County Marque Sign: Announcement submitted to appear 2 weeks prior to event.
  • Mount Cross Website hotlinked announcement.
  • Grapevine. Announcements ongoing up to event.
  • Power Point Announcement at all MC Church Services

 

Food:

  • Fellowship committee has volunteered to provide Hot Dogs, Beans, chips, etc.
  • Preparing health certificate requirements with Holly Sinclair at the Ventura County Health Department.
  • Popcorn and Cotton Candy machine, supplies provided by Diana Rose.

 

Music:

  • Coordinating with Caroling Hobbs.  Live music with consist of Classic Rock, with Christian based themes as well as many songs used from services.

 

Kid Activities:

  • Josh Graziani is coordinating all kids’ activities.  Jolly jump has been donated.  Games, clown and other activities to be provided as well. Chloe Vieira has been asked to provide face painting to the children.

 

Church Groups:

  • All church groups to be contacted to enlist their participation in the event.  Pop up tents and tables needed for each group.  Signage to be provided by various groups.
  • Cathy Channels will be notifying all CDC parents of the event – using Door Hangers as invite.  Dana Kohl has agreed to host the CDC booth at the event.

 

9-11 Remberance: Pastor John to create and prepare inside sanctuary.

 

Raffle Prizes:

Steve Kohl and Mike Laskey working with local business to donate gift certificates and gift baskets for raffle.

 

Church Brochure and Coffee Mugs:

Created draft of brochure – highlighting MC services and programs, to be reviewed with Pastors and Marilyn.  Patti Stouch to handle graphics and layout.  Jo and Herb Holler have offered to donate Mount Cross coffee mugs.  Graphics to be confirmed with Pastors.  The church brochure and coffee mug will be handed out to all guests.

 

Map/Layout of Event:

  • Preliminary layout has been discussed and will be confirmed within the next week.  Attempt to maximize use of existing parking and will be asking all MC members to use off street parking to provide ample room for all guests.
