Present: Pastor Erik, Sharon Korzan, Josh Graziani, Kris Korzan
LRCC:
1) Staff
from LRCC will visit
2) Anthony will also visit confirmation to promote camp.
3) Pastor Erik indicated that he is looking at the schedule to determine the best “camp week” this summer. He is considering beach camp for the confirmation class.
Sunday School:
1) The middle school teacher resigned and as Josh was having a difficult time recruiting for the position, he has decided to teach the class and instead get a volunteer to man the patio and SS table. He has had 2 volunteers.
2) The high school has very low turnout this year and we discussed ways to increase their numbers. Considering a fun activity such as ultimate Frisbee during SS hour or following church. Coffee house numbers have been high and we need to get some of that energy into the SS hour.
FWF:
Attendance numbers have been high this year; discussing possible changes next year to dates – mixing it up a bit.
VBS:
Andrea and Erin are on track with VBS. Pastor Erik expressed concern that Josh hasn’t been as involved in that program and wants to make sure that he is kept up to date. The issue isn’t the program being on track or running, simply that Josh be kept informed and current as to status and would be able to jump in if needed.
3rd Grade Bibles:
Pastor Erik introduced a new Bible (Spark Bible from
Augsburg Fortress, NRSV translation) that he would like us to consider for 3rd
grade. We discussed that it may be a
good idea to use it (or other) as a “
Nursery:
We discussed changing the nursery employee hourly rate to $10/hour. This will put it in line with the “flat” Sunday morning rate. Committee agreed and asked that Josh run this through personnel for their approval. We also discussed if we should offer a guaranteed minimum rate of $25 or $30; decided to table that for now.
Communion:
Pastor Erik would like us to consider changing the first communion age to around Kindergarten age. He discussed his reasoning for it. Committee members agreed that this is an issue best decided upon by the Pastors.
