-Director of Children’s
Ministry: Council and personnel put it
back on Pastor’s to decide whether or not we might want different
staffing. After several discussions with
Pastor John we decided that this position fills an important need at the church
and is line with our core value of “nurturing the next generation”. Personnel did not feel like we needed to
initiate a new application process so that we could simply hire the
interim. The interim contract expired
Dec. 31. I have since met with the
interim director and offered her the job.
She said yes and we are in the process of finalizing the employment agreement.
-Youth Internship: Have met with Christina Laurie who is the
potential intern. Learned some of her
background. She grew up in Lutheran
church in San Diego has some experience with VBS and a local church summer
camp. She needs 10 hours a week. I mentioned the end of January as a start
date. Need to get CLU forms from her
still as well as at least two references.
-E-Care
visits: In this day and age a lot of
communication takes place over the internet.
I am going to try and add an “e-care” section to my “Visits” report as
way of keeping track of this.
