Mount Cross - Children's Ministry Team Meeting 10/7/10

Time - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

Attendance: Joshua Graziani, Deborah Goebel, Aaron Laskey, Erin Carty, Dana Tingle, Jessica Rebbe

Next Meeting: Monday, November 1st, 2010 at 7:00pm

Purpose of the Team: Hold the director accountable with expectations of the position and help make decisions that would be best for the children's experiences learning about Jesus Christ.

Sunday School:

Sunday school is up and running. In the future this group will have the opportunity to make decisions on curriculum and logistical issues inside and outside the classroom.

We discussed the goals that we set out for the kids to achieve and the Team suggested that we throw a "Trunk or Treat" in the parking lot to help our chances of hitting 100 children on Halloween. Josh will bring this up at the staff meeting.

Fun With Faith

One way we discussed keeping the attendance at a consistent pace would be to promote carpooling and providing a "Friendship List" of students names, numbers, school and city for parents to get their children to FWF easier. The Team felt that it is important to build friendships with each other early so they can carry that into Confirmation.

Christmas Program, 12/19/10:

The Team agreed that having a pot-luck dinner start at 5:00pm, program start at 6:15pm and dessert follow would be the best agenda. Starting at 5:00pm should ensure that kids are not late. Kids would eat, start dressing at 5:45pm and begin walking in at 6:10pm.

We agreed that the kids will 2 songs that are age appropriate each and 2 group songs. Total songs should be around 6 to 8. We also discussed some of the confirmation group to participate as actors and perform a series of skits during the performance. Deborah is handling costumes, Kim is taking care of skits and songs, Lori and Josh will be confirming roles and who is in.

Practice was suggested to take place in to following ways:

- Sunday Mornings during opening.

- spending 3 weeks during Sunday mornings focusing on a different age group each week.

- FWF Kids can practice songs while caroling on Wednesday December 15, 2010

- Possibly talking with confirmation group to recruit actors and volunteers. (sets, directing, etc)
